Embedded Software Engineer

ERA RF Technologies, located at Teknopark Istanbul, develops domestic and national solutions in the fields of RF communication and defense technologies.

 

We are looking for an “Embedded Software Engineer” to join our Embedded Software team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Degree in Electronics, Electrical-Electronics, Electronics and Communication, or Mechatronics Engineering,
  • Proficiency in C programming (intermediate/advanced level),
  • Interest in and practical experience with compilers, microcontrollers, microprocessors, and computer architecture,
  • Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers,
  • Experience using Git / SVN,
  • Eagerness to learn and the ability to work extra hours under delivery pressure,
  • A disciplined and rigorous daily work ethic to meet project deadlines,
  • Interest in participating in on-site debugging operations and testing new products on UAVs and other flight vehicles,
  • Willingness to contribute to the development and construction of next-generation UAV platforms,
  • No issues regarding commuting to the Istanbul Technopark (Pendik, Istanbul) location. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering,
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital design following a bachelor’s degree, or at least 3 years following a master’s degree,
  • Advanced-level experience in RTL design using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog,
  • Experience in designing with SoC FPGA architectures,
  • Experience in designing DMA architectures and AXI/AXI-Stream-based bus structures,
  • Practical knowledge of Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) synchronization techniques and timing closure/Static Timing Analysis (STA) methodologies,
  • Experience in testbench development, simulation, FPGA debugging, and the use of laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers),
  • Experience in the design, verification, and implementation of high-speed serial communication interfaces (e.g., JESD204B/C, GT-based) on FPGAs,
  • Experience in porting DSP/RF algorithms—developed in high-level modeling environments (such as MATLAB)—to FPGAs and verifying them on hardware,
  • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English,
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly,
  • Ability to adapt to technological changes and agile workflows,
  • Capacity to work effectively within multidisciplinary projects and cross-functional teams,
  • No issues with commuting to the Istanbul Technopark (Pendik, Istanbul) location.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience in embedded software development,
  • Experience in development on Xilinx ARM and STM platforms (fsbl, u-boot, bootloader, PetaLinux, emulators, debuggers),
  • Experience in multi-threaded / multi-process software development,
  • Experience in Linux system programming,
  • Experience in Linux kernel programming,
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and TCP/UDP,
  • Technical knowledge of hardware and RF components,
  • Experience in hardware-software integration and commissioning,
  • Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.),
  • Experience in sectors/applications such as the defense industry, UAVs, satellites, SATCOM, RF, networking, 4G, 5G, LTE, or aerospace,
  • Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher.
