SMD Assembly Operator

ERA RF Technologies, located at Teknopark Istanbul, develops domestic and national solutions in the fields of RF communication and defense technologies.

 

We are seeking an “SMD Assembly Operator” to join our production facility in the Aktürk Industrial Complex in Pendik.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the production processes for electronic circuit boards on the SMD assembly line.
  • Performing machine setup, model changes, component loading, and feeder checks in accordance with the production plan.
  • Handling stencil printing, solder paste application, and print inspection processes.
  • Operating pick-and-place assembly machines in compliance with production instructions and monitoring the operation.
  • Overseeing the reflow oven process and reporting any discrepancies regarding temperature profiles or process parameters.
  • Conducting first-article inspections, as well as verifying polarity, orientation, component placement, and soldering quality according to established instructions.
  • Monitoring AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and visual inspection results, and reporting any identified defects to the relevant departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with standards for component lots, serial numbers, shelf life, MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level), and material traceability.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete production records and documentation of materials used.
  • Adhering to occupational health and safety regulations, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection standards and maintaining an organized production environment.
  • Performing daily checks, cleaning, and user-level maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a university or vocational high school program in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical-Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field,
  • Preferably experienced as an operator on SMD/SMT production lines or in electronic circuit board assembly,
  • Knowledgeable about pick-and-place assembly machines, feeders, and component reel systems,
  • Familiar with stencil printing, solder paste application, and reflow soldering processes,
  • Capable of identifying electronic components, polarity/orientation markings, and reference designators on PCBs,
  • Able to read and follow production instructions, work orders, and basic technical documentation,
  • Capable of working in compliance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols and fundamental quality requirements for electronic manufacturing,
  • Attentive, meticulous, quality-oriented in repetitive production tasks, and responsible,
  • Proficient in basic computer use and Microsoft Office programs,
  • Able to adapt to a shift-based work schedule,
  • A strong team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment,
  • Residing in a location with convenient access to the Aktürk Industrial Zone (Aktürk Sanayi Dünyası) in Pendik.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Experience in electronic circuit board assembly within the defense or aerospace industries,
  • Knowledge of or certification in IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards,
  • Experience with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), SPI (Solder Paste Inspection), and solder paste printing inspection processes,
  • Familiarity with MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) classification, dry storage, dehumidification, and component traceability practices,
  • Experience using ERP, production tracking, or inventory management systems.
